Prepare for Your Dental Implant Surgery with Confidence
Before undergoing your dental implant or bone grafting procedure at International Dental Center PV, it’s important to follow these preoperative guidelines to ensure a safe, comfortable, and successful treatment.
Our goal is to help you feel informed and prepared every step of the way
One Week Before Surgery
✅ Medical disclosure – Inform your dentist about all medications, vitamins, and supplements you take, especially blood thinners or anticoagulants.
✅ Stop smoking and alcohol – Avoid tobacco and alcohol at least 7 days before surgery, as they can affect healing and blood flow.
✅ Plan transportation – Arrange for someone to accompany you if sedation will be used.
✅ Diet and hydration – Eat healthy, balanced meals and drink plenty of water in the days leading up to the procedure.
One Day Before Surgery
✅ Rest well – Get a full night’s sleep; your body heals best when well-rested.
✅ Confirm medications – Take only the medicines prescribed or approved by your doctor.
✅ Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen – Unless directed otherwise, these may increase bleeding risk.
✅ Soft food ready – Prepare soups, smoothies, and other soft foods to eat after surgery.
The Day of Surgery
✅ Fasting – Do not eat or drink for at least 6–8 hours before surgery if you’re having sedation.
✅ Hygiene – Brush your teeth thoroughly (avoid mouthwash with alcohol).
✅ No makeup or jewelry – Keep your face clean; avoid perfume, makeup, or earrings.
✅ Comfortable clothing – Wear loose, short-sleeved clothing for easy access to vital signs if sedation is used.
✅ Arrive early – Come 15 minutes before your appointment to review consent forms and relax before treatment.
Aftercare Reminder
Your recovery begins right after surgery. We’ll provide detailed post-operative instructions including medications, diet, and follow-up schedule. Healing typically begins within the first 24 hours, with full recovery in a few weeks.
Remember: the better you prepare, the smoother your recovery will be.
